HELA provides many enjoyable activities to help you use your English in fun and practical situations.

ZOO

• Fun Friday Activities

Every Friday will be different – sometimes playing games, maybe going to the zoo, or watching a movie. Students can learn and explore Hamilton with our Fun Friday Activities!

• Graduation Ceremony – Coming Soon
In the future, when HELA can offer qualifications such as Certificates with NZQA, graduation ceremonies will be held whenever students complete their course.

With students undertaking tutoring, if the student has been in the class for longer than 3 months, they will have a leaving party to celebrate their improvement over their time at HELA and a letter presented to them showing their progress and time undertaken at HELA.

COMING SOON

• Lunchtime Games
Lunchtimes are great opportunity to meet people and practice speaking English. HELA has many board games, card games, and a ping pong table making lunchtime another learning opportunity.

• Social Night and English Contests
We have monthly get-togethers where students can get to know one another and of course participate in our English Contests. This encourages students to study outside of the classrooms and use English in a pressure environment. Winners get their photo up on the noticeboard and a prize for their achievements.

sport
• Sports & Games
Students are able to use the student noticeboard to organise sports or games with other students. This means students get to know others in their area and can use their English skills when out in the community.
